Pedophilia
As a medical diagnosis, pedophilia, or paedophilia, is defined as a psychiatric disorder in persons who are 16 years of age or older typically characterized by a primary or exclusive sexual interest in prepubescent children (generally those under the age of 14, though onset of puberty varies).
What upset me is that it is defined as a psychiatric disorder. Now there are women who are sexually attracted to men or men who are sexually attracted to women. Some people are attracted to the same sex, people who are attracted to blonde hair, green eyes, people attracted to piercings, nice bodies, tattoos ect. none of these people are defined of having a psyciatric disorder. because being sexually attracted to someone isn't a disorder. Its who they are, and mental help cant change who someone truly is.
Classifying Pedophilia as a psyciatric disorder is so unfair to the victims. It's like saying...oh they have a disease , it wasn't their fault. So I goggled disease

I remember reading this about a year ago and was pissed too. I was looking for something anything to make sense of my life. 18 months ago my DD told me what Daddy was doing to help her sleep. He is in jail for the next 25 years. I am sorry that almost no one believed you. I look forward to reading your blog, I love that you are taking back your freedom.

DeleteI'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you, however pedophila is a psychiatric disorder. At some point in that persons life, they themselves were victims to the same thing you where. Where it was exposed to them or it physically happened to them. At that point, its really up to the individual how to handle and what to take from those experiences. I'm not saying everyone who is touched will touch another, its all based on that person personally on how they will handle the situation. I'm glad you're making a stand not only for yourself but giving people out there who have gone through those things similar to you the opportunity to become the change.

sexually abusing someone for their own sexual desires is a choice. this whole disorder stuff is a cop out for people not accepting responsibility for their actions
